Apothecount

Terms of use

Last updated 19 September 2026.

Apothecount is a free web service run by Saurabh Gupta, a private individual in Switzerland, at https://apothecount.com. These terms say what you can expect from it and what it asks of you. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

What Apothecount does

Apothecount keeps a count of the medication you tell it about, estimates when you will run out, suggests a day to reorder and a quantity to order, and drafts an order message for you to send yourself. It is a bookkeeping tool. It has no knowledge of your health, your prescriptions or your pharmacy's stock, and it never contacts anyone on your behalf.

Not medical advice

Nothing in Apothecount is medical, pharmaceutical or professional advice. It does not know what you should take, how much or for how long. Doses, pack sizes and counts are what you entered, and the estimates that follow are only as good as those entries. Always follow the instructions of your prescriber and your pharmacist, keep enough medication in hand regardless of what the service shows, and check the quantity in any order before you send it. If you are ever unsure about your medication, ask a healthcare professional; do not rely on this service.

Your account

You need to be at least 18 to have an account, and the account is for you: one person, one login. Keep your password to yourself and choose a good one. You are responsible for what is done with your account until you tell us it has been compromised at hello@apothecount.com. You can change your details, your password and your email address on the account page, and you can delete the account there at any time, which removes everything in it straight away.

Acceptable use

Use Apothecount for its purpose, keeping track of your own medication or that of someone in your care, with their agreement. Do not use it to store information about people who have not agreed to it, do not try to get at other people's accounts or data, do not probe, overload or interfere with the service, and do not use it for anything unlawful. Accounts used in these ways may be closed without notice.

Availability and changes

Apothecount is provided free of charge and as it is. It is run in spare time on modest equipment. It may be unavailable now and then, features may change or be withdrawn, and the service may one day close. Reasonable notice will be given of closure where possible, and you can always take your data out beforehand by copying it from the pages. Because it is free, there is no service level, and no compensation is offered for downtime or loss.

Your data

What is stored, where and for how long is set out on the privacy page, which forms part of these terms. In short, your data stays on a server in Switzerland, is used only to provide the service to you, is never sold or shared, and is deleted when you delete your account.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the service is offered without warranty of any kind, and Saurabh Gupta is not liable for any loss or damage arising from its use or unavailability, including but not limited to running out of medication, an order placed for the wrong quantity, or loss of data. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited under Swiss law.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The date at the top says when they last changed. A material change will be announced on the sign-in page or by email to your account address before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the change.

Law and contact

Swiss law applies, and the courts at the operator's place of residence in Switzerland have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection you enjoy where you live. Questions about these terms go to hello@apothecount.com.
